The immediate loading protocol prosthesis (ILPP) is an innovative technique in the rehabilitation of edentulous patients, offering significant aesthetic and functional benefits. With advancements in implant dentistry, immediate loading has gained prominence due to its ability to reduce total treatment time and improve patient quality of life. The objective of this study was to systematize, through an integrative review, the principles, advantages, disadvantages, and success criteria of the application of immediate loading protocol prosthesis (ILPP) in totally edentulous patients. A literature search was conducted in the PubMed and Virtual Health Library databases using the keywords “implant-supported prosthesis”, “immediate loading”, “oral rehabilitation”, “osseointegration” and “primary stability”. A total of 19 studies were selected for analysis. The results demonstrate that immediate loading is effective in the full rehabilitation of patients, with high success rates when careful surgical planning and initial implant stability are ensured. The technique also offers advantages such as eliminating the need for temporary removable prostheses and preserving the anatomy of peri-implant soft tissues. However, its application requires specialized knowledge and strict control of occlusal forces. In conclusion, ILPP is an efficient option for oral rehabilitation but requires careful patient assessment and long-term follow-up to ensure success and minimize complications.
