Abstract

Adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder affects a large number of people, the causes are still relatively unknown, however the debilitating effects and consequences are well known and rehabilitation procedures may include surgical and non-surgical interventions depending on the patient's clinical condition. Physiotherapy can be part of a program that includes home exercises. The study aims to report a home physiotherapy intervention and improvement of adhesive capsulitis dysfunction. To perform the work, the range of motion of the glenohumeral joint in abduction and flexion was measured, as well as the intensity of pain using the visual analog pain scale. The physiotherapeutic treatment protocol was established by the person responsible for the study. As a result, there was significant improvement in pain and range of motion in abduction and flexion. The present study demonstrates that a home physiotherapy protocol was effective in restoring shoulder functionality.
