Breast cancer is the second most common neoplasm in the world and often the most diagnosed among women. Breast neoplasia is a disease caused by the disordered multiplication of breast cells, generating abnormal cells, which diversify to form a tumor. The aim of this study was to identify in scientific production the importance of the role of nursing in caring for women with breast cancer. The study is an integrative review with a survey of articles in the Virtual Health Library, PubMed and SciELO databases. The study is a proposal for an approach to nursing care for women with breast cancer. This research was carried out between March and December 2023. A total of 414 articles were found corresponding to the research topic and 5 articles were selected for the study. The main nursing actions were nurses' care for breast cancer patients, the role of nurses as educators of these women and the challenges faced by women during chemotherapy treatment. In conclusion, the study presented results on the importance of nurses and their actions with women with breast cancer and the need for emotional support provided by the nursing team to cancer patients.
